The state of our healthcare is in a crisis. It is not sustainable. The current mainstream approach to chronic medical conditions in this country can be compared to the conventional approach to food production. We treat our crops and factory farm animals without regard to the impact on the entire ecosystem. The crops receive insecticides, herbicides, and synthetic fertilizers. The factory farm animals are fed pesticided grains, antibiotics, and growth hormones and are often raised in inhumane and unhealthy conditions. These are the quick fixes that are unsustainable over the long run.
