SANTA FE, NM: October 24, 2017. The Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) will be holding an Open House on Monday November 6, 2017 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm. The campus is located at 83 Avan Nu Po Road, eight minutes from the intersection of Rodeo Road and Richards Avenue, on the south side of Santa Fe. For directions and a map of the campus, click here.
Exhibitions, demonstrations, and ceremonies will be the order of the day, with open studios and classrooms – plus a Bronze Pour – a sight not often seen by those outside of the art world – taking place at the Allan Houser Haozous Sculpture & Foundry Building at approximately 2:30 pm.
IAIA will celebrate the opening of its newest campus facility, with a dedication ceremony for the Performing Arts and Fitness Building at 3:30 pm featuring special guests Grammy-winning musician Robert Mirabal (Taos Pueblo), Olympic Gold Medalist Billy Mills (Oglala Lakota), Santa Fe Mayor Javier Gonzales, Dr. Barbara Damron, Cabinet Secretary, New Mexico Higher Education Department, and more to be announced.
